COCA-COLA HALLOWEEN

All treats, no tricks: for The Coca-Cola Halloween Collection experience, we filled a handful of Coke vending machines on a college campus with digital and physical prizes to be collected through AR trick-or-treating made possible with Niantic’s newest limited release VPS technology.

Through our microsite, students could learn about the experience and what prizes there were to be won. If they dared to trick-or-treat with us, a real-time ghost would guide them along the map to find the haunted vending machines on their actual campus.

Once a vending machine was found and scanned with a phone, it would spookify on-screen and dispense a prize into the user’s digital trick-or-treat bag.

Prizes ranged from AR masks and Coca-Cola Halloween NFTs to Puma collab merch and even Coachella tickets for the trick-or-treater and a friend!

In the only long-form copy ad I’ll probably ever get to do, we took over the front page of the school newspaper to help spread the word.
